Germany announced their intention to regain their Affiliate membership of the RLEF with a 16-32 win over the rapidly rising Spanish team in Valencia. Spain will be hoping to dust themselves down quickly ahead of their second home fixture in as many weeks, in what will be their toughest challenge to date, with 26th ranked Spain hosting 12th ranked Italy in Alicante. Meanwhile, a little further north, Denmark will be hosting Norway in the second round of the Nordic Cup and may be able to take the cup home if they manage to follow up their defeat of Sweden in the first round with another victory. Addendum: Spain v Italy has now been postponed.

I now have a confirmed date for the Czech Republic vs Sweden friendly in July, it is being played on the 25th in Brod.
Also a quick reminder that Spain are taking on Germany on Saturday. I'm trying to find out about a live stream, but I suspect that there won't be one Just a quick update to say the site has now been updated with Canada's fixtures for the rest of the year, although I'm still waiting for dates to be confirmed for their RLWC matches
I've now managed to update the Latvia v Spain score on the main page. Apologies for the delay, I was away from my main PC for a few days so couldn't get it updated.
I've also added links for highlights of Fiji/PNG, SA/Niue, Samoa/Tonga, Netherlands/Belgium, Australia/NZ, as well as a full replay of Malta/Lebanon and text reports of Japan/Thailand and Latvia/Spain. I'll update with video as soon as I can find one. This weekend's Serbia/Russia match is also being livestreamed here Seems to have been a pretty close match, with SA pulling into a 16-0 lead but Philippines pulling it back to 16-12 before the end of the first half. The difference in the score being down to the Tamaraws being unable to convert any of their tries.
The second half continued in a similar vein, with SA going a couple of scores ahead and Philippines pulling closer. The Rhinos never really looked in danger of losing, at which point the Tamaraws clawed their way to within 4 points and took the game right down to the wire, but the South Africans ultimately managed to hold out for the victory. A good win for South Africa, and a great effort from The Philippines in their closest ever game I've set up this site after I realised that there isn't really anywhere that collates all the international fixtures. There's a site that I used to use, but as of typing this they still only have 4 fixtures listed for the year, none of which are in Europe and don't even include the England/NZ series at the end of the year.
Because of this, I figured that if you want something doing, you might as well do it yourself and in just over a day I've managed to collate 30 fixtures together, and at least I now have a central place I can see these at. If nothing else, this site will help me decide on potential holiday dates/locations. I'll try to keep this as up-to-date as I can, and there are a few more things I've got in the pipeline. |
